Terms of Service

Last updated September 6, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Skillmeet (the "Service"). By creating an account, listing a profile, or otherwise using Skillmeet, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use Skillmeet

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use Skillmeet on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business to these Terms.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Listings and content

  • You retain ownership of the content you publish (profile details, photos, offers, menu items, posts).
  • You grant Skillmeet a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and promote that content in connection with operating the Service.
  • You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload and that it is accurate and not misleading.
  • We may remove or unpublish content that breaches these Terms, is reported by the community, or creates legal risk.

4. Recommendations and claimable listings

Anyone can recommend a business that isn't yet on Skillmeet. Recommended listings stay unpublished and are only made public once the business owner claims the listing and starts a paid subscription. If a listing about you was created without your consent, contact us and we will remove it.

5. Rankings

Placement on Skillmeet is driven by community upvotes and relevance. Ranking positions are not for sale. A paid plan unlocks features — it does not buy a higher position in results.

6. Subscriptions and billing

  • Skillmeet profiles require a paid annual subscription (Basic or Pro).
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each year at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • If a payment fails, paid features and public visibility may be suspended until payment succeeds.
  • Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Affiliate program

Affiliate commissions are paid on qualifying subscription payments made by users you refer, within the referral window shown on the affiliate page. Self-referrals, fake accounts, paid-search bidding on our brand terms and spam promotion void commissions and may result in account termination.

8. Bookings and services between users

Skillmeet is a discovery platform. Any work, quote, booking or payment agreed between a customer and a service provider is a contract between those two parties. Skillmeet is not a party to it and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality or delivery of any service.

9. Acceptable use

  • No unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, hateful or deceptive content.
  • No impersonating another person or business.
  • No manipulating upvotes, reviews or rankings.
  • No scraping, bulk data extraction or automated abuse of the Service.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. You may cancel your subscription or delete your account at any time from your account settings.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific results, leads, or revenue.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skillmeet's total liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
