Privacy Policy

Last updated September 6, 2026

This policy explains what personal information Skillmeet collects, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email address and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider).
  • Profile information — business name, description, categories and specialties, photos, phone, website, city and approximate location.
  • Activity — upvotes, saves, follows, bookings, messages, offers redeemed and reports you submit.
  • Location — if you use "near me", your browser's approximate location, used only to sort results. We do not store precise coordinates from that feature.
  • Payment information — handled by Stripe. We receive subscription status, plan and billing period only; we never see your full card number.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed.

2. How we use it

  • To operate your account, profile and listings.
  • To take payments and manage subscriptions and affiliate commissions.
  • To power search, ranking and recommendations.
  • To send service messages such as booking requests, claim links and billing notices.
  • To detect abuse, spam and fraud, and to keep the platform safe.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. What is public

Published profiles, offers, menu items and posts are public and may be indexed by search engines. Your email address, phone number (unless you publish it), bookings and private messages are not public.

4. Service providers

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
  • Google Maps — location lookup and place search.
  • Analytics provider — aggregated usage measurement, only if you accept analytics cookies.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your location choice and attribute affiliate referrals for up to 60 days. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site and reloading.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, it enters a 30-day recovery window and is then permanently removed, except records we must retain for tax, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Most of this is available directly in your account settings; for anything else, email us.

8. Children

Skillmeet is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production data is restricted, and database access rules limit what each account can read. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

10. Changes and contact

We'll post updates to this page and note the date above. Questions or requests: privacy@skillmeet.com. See also our Terms of Service.
